The mission of the Falls Church Education Foundation is to be a catalyst of support for our public school system as it prepares our students to effectively meet the challenges of the new century.  Since its inception in 2004, FCEF has funded a variety of programs that support educational excellence, benefiting students from the primary years through high school.

Funds raised will go to supplement and enhance learning opportunities and growth for all students.  Seventy-five percent of contributions will go to meet short-term, high priority needs.  As there is no doubt the pressures impacting the 2011 budget are likely to continue in the foreseeable future,  25 percent of each contribution will be invested in the Foundation’s Legacy Endowment Fund – a“gift in perpetuity” – meaning a portion of your contribution  continues supporting the schools long after this year has ended.  Annual earnings from the endowment fund will be distributed to continue supporting school initiatives.

This year however, our appeal takes on added significance as we ask for your support in helping to offset some of what has been lost due to budget constraints.

Your support is vital in preserving our educational system and enabling it to continue to implement the innovative programs that have made Falls Church City Schools what they are today.

Please consider giving to FCEF and becoming an “Academic Booster” for our students.

Community members can support FCEF goals in four ways:

• Contributing to our annual fund to help us maintain and expand our programs even in hard economic times like these »

• Participating in the annual Run for the Schools and other events (see our calendar) that fund our administrative and investment management expenses »

• Donating to any of our scholarship funds, many of which honor former staff, teachers, students and parents »

• Sponsoring a George Mason High School as an intern in your company »
